October/November 2010

October and November have flown by. The girls enjoyed the Halloween "season". Maddie dressed up as Minnie Mouse for dance class, Tinkerbell for preschool, and Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz for Halloween. Hailey was a bumble bee and loved eating the candy she got trick or treating. Poor little Maddie got the stomach flu on Halloween so she got dressed up but wasn't feeling to well. Maddie enjoyed decorating the house for Fall with her Grandma Deb's pumpkins and gords. We have also gone to the Childrens theater with Maddie and she loves it! It is so fun to watch her watching the show to see her reaction. Maddie loves preschool and is a great little student and helper to her teachers. She is learning so much and growing up. Her favorite activity at school and at home is playing dress up. She changes several times a day at home. She also loves playing office and doctor. Hailey has also grown up in the past few months. She is running around finding trouble and talking up a storm. Some of her cuter sayings are "Love you!", "baby", "Cheese!" (for the camera), "Grammy, Bumpa, Noey, Maddie, dada, mommy, Shelby", and "nope!". We just decorated for Christmas. Maddie is a great helper. Hailey loves the decorations but is not so helpful. We have spent a lot of time rearranging the decorations so that she won't break them.:)
We have also been busy preparing for our new little one to arrive. Hailey has figured out mommy's big tummy has a baby in it. She likes to slap it and say baby. I caught her touching Maddie's tummy yesterday saying baby so I guess she doesn't quite get it.:) We are all anticipating Baby girl Olson's birth. She will be here any day now it is literally just a matter of time. Waiting is the hardest part.:) We will keep you posted on when she arrives. Please pray for a safe and healthy delivery and baby.

Fall 2010

This Fall has been a busy one in the Olson household. I started back to work the end of August. Maddie started preschool this year. She loves it and is a good helper for her teachers. She helps them clean and get ready. She loves to play with the other kids and all the activities that go on. Maddie is also continuing to take dance lessons. She loves to dance and is learning a lot. We also celebrated Maddie's 4th birthday. She had a Dora the explorer party with a Dora bounce house. She had a great time and had fun with all her little friends that came to party. As a family we went to the Apple orchard with Grandma Deb, Grandpa Paul, and Auntie Kinsey. The girls enjoyed the hayride, playing on the playground, and petting the animals. Madison also had a special birthday celebration at preschool that Grandma Penny and I went to. Maddie was so grown up and quiet. I was pretty surprised.:) Hailey is growing up too. She is now officially walking the majority of the time. She is still a tiny little peanut. so, she looks pretty cute walking around being so short and small. She is also talking a lot. However, her favorite word right now is "mommy". I guess she has learned that if she says mommy that she gets what she wants. Hailey is a good little mommy. She loves playing with her baby dolls and hugs, kisses, and feeds them. She also likes to pat the backs of and feed other little babies that we see. I am hoping she will be a good little helper when her baby sister gets here. Baby girl Olson is doing great. I am feeling well and have had no issues during my pregnancy. I have about 2 months to go. She will be here soon. We are now gearing up for Halloween. Maddie is very excited for trick or treating.

Montreal & Quebec City

We just traveled to Montreal and Quebec City with our family and my parents (Tim and Penny). We had fun and the girls got to experience many new things. We were in the mountains at Mont Tremblant and got to hike, see waterfalls, go on gondola rides, mini golf, paddle boat and much more. In Quebec City we were able to see the "characters" as Maddie calls them, beautiful architecture, more waterfalls, eat delicious food, and hear lots of French. Maddie started saying Bonjour! and Merci! by the end of the trip. She also became quite the poser for pictures. She would beg for her picture to be taken and get in a pose. It was very funny. I will post a few pics from each place.

Baby Olson #3

We had our 20 week ultrasound a few weeks ago to check on our new little ones growth. She is doing great and growing well. That's right I said she. We are having another little girl! We are very excited to have 3 girls in our house. I am so glad that Hailey and this little one will be so close in age. I am hoping they will be great playmates and friends. Maddie has named the baby "minnie mouse" and we are going with that name for right now.:) Unfortunately, we don't have any girl names picked out yet but we still have a lot of time to work on that. For the time being she is being called minnie mouse. She looks like her sisters on the ultrasound picture with that cute little pug nose. I will try to scan that in eventually.

Other than that we have been very busy with our summer activities. Maddie just finished up soccer/TBall and she not surprisingly likes soccer better because of the running and activity involved. We also have been on quite a few outings with friends. We went to the como zoo with the Parker girls. We have gone on a boat ride on "Bumpa's ribber" as Maddie calls it. We visited the Larsen lake cabin and my parents Shabin. We went to Teddy bear park with Ella (and Melissa the girls babysitter). We went to MOA to visit the backyardigans with Brenna and Paige. We go to the Baden's pool weekly to swim and play. Maddie is getting to be quite the swimmer and can jump in and goes under without being afraid. We also walk around Colby Lake with Jaimie each week. We are still hitting up the puppet wagon and the library weekly. Maddie wakes up each day and asks where we are going today. We are going on vacation soon to Montreal and Quebec City with my parents. So, we are getting ready for that as well.

Hailey Mae's 1st Birthday!!

Hailey turned 1 and she had a blast! She spent her actual birthday July 1st by going to the Teddy Bear Park in Stillwater, out to eat at Grand Pizza, and then to our families favorite, Nelson's icecream for dessert. Auntie Kinsey was staying with us for the week to help mommy so we could get ready for the party. Grammy and Bumpa and Unky Punky joined us in Stillwater to eat also. Then, Hailey had her birthday party on the July 3rd and she had a great time. She enjoyed eating her cake and was very neat at first but then had that frosting rubbed in her hair and all over her body. She also loved all of her presents and has been playing with all of her toys daily. We set up the kiddie pools and she enjoyed swimming with her little buddies. It was a hot day so it was a great one to go swimming. After the swimming, she was exhausted and went down for a nap.

Hailey also had her one year check up at the doctor and she is doing well. She is growing and weighs 17lbs. exactly and is still in the 1st percentile for weight but she is following her growth curve for both weight and height. Her height is in the 20th percentile. At her last appt. the doctor had mentioned that if she continued to go down in percentiles for weight she would have to go to the endocronologist. Thankfully she has gained 3 lbs. since her last visit and the doctor thinks she is healthy and growing well. She is just a little peanut and has the Larson genes.

Hailey 11 months and summer fun

Hailey is 11 months her birthday is coming up on Thursday and she will be one already. This 1st year has flown by so fast. She has such a nice temperment and personality. She is very easygoing and happy. It is fun to see her talk back a little to her big sister when appropriate. She is still super smiley and loves to meet new people. She is talking a lot. Trying to mimic many of the sounds and words we say. Some of her new words are dog, baby, doll, hi daddy!, pooh, and bye bye. She is crawling and standing like crazy but not walking quite yet. She can stand on her own but gets scared and sits down. She furniture walks and is standing up on anything she can though. She is healthy and happy and we are looking forward to her big day!

We have been having a lot of fun this summer so far. We go to the puppet wagon, library, picnics, walks around the lake, swimming lessons, swimming at our friends pool and in our little pools, and going to MOA. Maddie has been loving all the activities and playing with all her "friends" that she meets at each new place. She is a very friendly and extroverted girl. She also has enjoyed playing with our neighbors. One very cute story that melted my heart is at swimming lessons the teacher asked her who her best friend was and I overheard her say Hailey. They have been interacting, talking, laughing, and playing a lot together this summer. I am so glad that they love each other. That is about all for now. I will update after the big day.

3's

I just turned 30 and have had many celebrations which has been fun. I figure it is the year of 3's since I am 30, 3 months pregnant, and will be having 3 kids the first week in December. That's right, we are expecting again. I am actually about 15 weeks now and starting to feel better. I was very sick the first 3 months and the biggest gift I got for my birthday was starting to feel less nauseous.:) We have had one ultrasound at 11 weeks and got to see the little one jumping around. I will have another ultrasound in about 5 weeks and we are going to find out the gender hopefully at that time. We will be a busy bunch at the Olson household.:)
